Formula #3
Comfrey tincture
(Boil Be-Gone)
Have you thanked your plants today? I always thank mine as I harvest them for their healing gifts. As in Formula
#1 comfrey plays a big part in this tincture but I have added to it tincture of calendula and tincture of sage.
The comfrey steeped in vodka seems to heal those boils that won't come to a head that are the bane of many women.
Added to this are sage- for its tannic acid , according to the "Little Herb Encyclopedia" it is credited
with being a powerful antioxidant, shrinking inflamed tissues and cleaning old ulcers or sores. Its Latin name
"salvia" means Savior.
Calendula has long been used where skin problems are an issue and is reputedly a fine healer of tissue and skin
irritations.
The herbal qualities of this are preserved in vodka, so that whilst it "shouldn't" hurt you if taken
internally, we recommend that you only use it externally. It comes in a one ounce vial and dabbing it on problem
areas a few times a day seems to do wonders. It might also be nice in a facial steam- a few drops in a bowl of
very hot water held under the face.
