Parasols for Legends of Zorro


Once again,we were chosen to create parasols for Hollywood.
I was very excited to have the possiblity of one of my parasols being used by a main character- Catherine Zeta Jones.
In all a total of 10 parasols were constructed,
watch for the parasols below to appear in the movie!

Some of the Frames- the ribs are a painted bamboo, and the size is very tiny
suitable for 1850's costuming- notice 17" across the dome below.
We had to search to find these frames to accomodate the very small size requested by
Tornado Productions.

Beige silk jacqard 25 inches long from ferrule to handle tip.

This is the first parasol that appears in the movie trailer it is
ivory jacquard silk with Cotton english lace and a folding handle.




This parasol appears just behind Catherine's head moments after the first
it isTussah Silk with vintage lace trim dyed to match


Tan/black Silk Jacquard with black floss fringe,
and hand dyed silk twill with matching floss fringe

Embroidered silk taffeta with china silk lining and hand dyed fringe


Black silk pongee, blue china silk lining


Black/brown silk matalasse with black floss fringe
Brown silk taffeta




We did similar parasols for the 1860 period (only very slightly larger) for the
movie Cold Mountain.
They appeared in the hospital scene where he was recuperating, walking outside.
