Where do we get our ideas?
We have a large library of original period magazines and books, as well as a collection of period sewing items.
Some books we used in planning this class are original Godey's, Turn of the century McCall's magazines, Petersons, Demorest, Butterick's Pretty Pursuits for Children 1897,Motherly Talks with Young Housekeepers by Mrs. H.W. Beecher, Three Meals a Day(a turn of the century cookbook), McGuffey's Eclectic Readers, A Girls Own Book, School of Needlework(1897), Hillgroves Ballroom Guide and Practical Dancer, Manners Culture and Dress of the Best American Society(1891)
