a sailor style collar. and closes with small mother of pearl buttons. Below is a photo of the "second

I made a new one in a larger size for our oldest daughter with yellow braid.
Sack Dress and Apron
Circa 1878-1885
A lovely simple dress for the young miss of 3-12.
The sack dress is a loose simple cut great for play and chores, The length should be between knee length for the
younger child to mid calf for the 9-12 year old.
The Apron is cut in one piece and may be fully lined our the edges bound with bias.
1887 visiting dress
A polonaise style dress for a young lady of 4-14 dating to the late
1880's.
For the younger girl the kilt pleated skirt is attached to a lining waist to prevent it from sliding down.
The dress is trimmed with cluny lace, velvet bias and velvet covered buttons.
The polonaise bustles up in the back and is worn with a small bustle pad.
