1883 Dress

Burgandy and tan plaid child's dress Victorian era

This little dress was fashioned after a pattern found in a 1883 Demorest, called the Edma Dress. The description is as follows-"A decidedly practical little dress, with cut-away fronts over a plain saque front, which imparts a jaunty effect to the design. It is half fitting, and the requisite length is provided by a flounce sewed to the bottom. A deep round collar completes the model and it may be trimmed with rows of velvet, as illustrated or with any other type of flat trimming preferred. Patterns in sizes 2 to 6 yrs."
