dress measurement position

These dresses are sold "as is" but they can easily be adjusted by a knowledgeable seamstress if the measurements are not quite "perfect"

Some things to remember

It is much easier to "take down" a dress that is too large than let out one that is too small. Order by bust Measurement- notify me if waist measurement is larger than the standard given for that bust size- IF I have time and resources I will enlarge (or take it down) at no extra charge, sometimes this may not be possible but I will try to work with you if I possibly can.

Fittings are not included with the price unless prior arrangements are made or description specifically states so.

These are "off -the-rack dresses" this helps keep the price down! Please do not expect a tailor fit from these dresses, although I have found my dress sizings to fit most ladies.

Fabrics

Most of our "Horseshoes" dresses are made from either natural fabrics or fabrics accepted as "substitutes" through most reenactment circles. I look for quality fabrics that will wear and wash well.

When there is a variation (and there sometimes is) I will state so in the item description. Periodically I find synthetic fabrics that carry out the "look" of the Victorian Era so well and are so affordable I can't resist them. I will not sell them to you as something they are not. Cheaper fabrics will reflect in cheaper dress prices, I feel my prices are honest and relate to time involved and fabric costs.

Dress Availability

These are ready-mades and as such what is available is what is online. Sometimes, though, I do have one in current production. If you don't see what you want or your size please e-mail me with your Bust measure and time period involved. If I have a lull in my schedule I may be able to get you a Horseshoes design out in a timely manner, or, it may be I happen to have a dress that suits on the cutting table or in the finishing stages. Sorry, you won't get much choice in the design- but I will promise a beautiful, well made dress at a competitive price.
